An aStore is a new Amazon Associates product that gives you the power to create a professional online store. There is no need for special programming skills. The aStore can be embedded within your website or you can link to it from your website.
It is pretty simple.
First, if you haven’t already, set yourself up as an Amazon Associate.
Next go to aStore for Amazon Associates.
Click on “build an aStore Now” and sign in.
Click on “Add an aStore.”
You will come to a page that says, “Create a Tracking ID for your new aStore.” You can enter any tracking ID and see if it is available. For instance, I put in Selah Press Publishing and checked to see if it was available. It was so I moved on. If yours is not, keep trying until you find a tracking ID that is available.
Once you find an available tracking ID number you will get a message that says, “Congratulations, ___ is available. Click the Continue button to configure your new store.”
Go ahead and click on “Continue.”
You will come to the “Create aStore Pages” to create a category, add individual items and add a category description for the top of your aStore page.
Go ahead and add category pages and start adding merchandise to your aStore. You can use keywords, ASIN for Kindle books or the ISBN for paperback books.
As you search each product the books will display. Click “Add.”
Go back to the category page and click “Save Changes.”
You can click “Preview Store” to review your aStore before clicking “Continue” to finish the process.
Once you click continue you can chose the theme, change background color, text color, font, background color, content background color, body text color and font as well as the color of links. Click various options to see what combination best fits the look of your website.
Next create a name for your aStore and configure your store header. You can even add a logo to your aStore from here.
Click “Continue.”
From here you can pick how to include your new aStore on your website.
If you chose “Link to your aStore as a stand-alone site” it can be added to your navigation bar. This choice will make it appear to your visitors like they are leaving your website.
If you chose “Embed your aStore using inline frame” you can embed the store into an existing page or create a new page. When you do this it will appear to your visitors as if the store is part of your site and give them the impression that they can shop without leaving your website.
Or if you chose “Integrate your aStore using a frameset” which dedicates a full view display of your aStore. When you do this it will appear to your visitors as if the store is part of your site and give them the impression that they can shop without leaving your website.
